Weber Summit S-670
The Weber Summit is a definite splurge with its sky-high price point, but it comes stocked with lots of high end features. With six burners, it can handle a whopping 28 burgers at a time, plus there’s a high power sear burner, side burner, rotisserie, smoker box, lighted control knobs, and a built-in gas level indicator gauge.
In our testing, we observed minimal smoking and flare-ups, and the Summit did a decent job grilling steak (though it was only average at grilling chicken).
An added bonus: the grill comes mostly assembled, making it incredibly easy to put together. At five times the cost of many of our favorite inexpensive grills, the Summit may not be our overall recommendation, but it’s a great choice for those willing to spend extra for plenty of bells and whistles.

Napoleon Prestige Pro PRO665RSIBPSS

Editor’s Note: This product has been removed from our side-by-side comparison because it has been replaced by another product. You can still read our original review below, but Top Ten Reviews is no longer updating this product’s information.
Napoleon, a relative newcomer to the world of gas grills, has quickly become a well-respected name in barbecue grills. The Napoleon Prestige Pro is one of the premiere products the company has to offer. This gas grill can reach very high temperatures across its eight primary burners. The Prestige Pro has a huge amount of cooking space, and offers plenty of features. This is a gas grill that will meet the needs of just about any backyard chef. This grill is much larger than any other grill we reviewed, but the large cooking area and shelf space makes up for the bulkiness. The versatile cooking space and overall features, construction and technology make this one of the best grills on the market.
Modern Home Products (MHP) GJK3
MHP took their existing components and created a large, 36″, stainless steel grill which may be installed or purchased on a cart. GJK3 has a contemporary look, but without bells and whistles like digital thermometers and hood lights. Indeed, the only electric components are the battery ignition and optional rotisserie. Gone is the heavy cast aluminum housing that defines MHP in so many ways. Although GJK3 is a quality grill from a reputable company, it has a “me too” element that’s easy to understand but lacks the unique characteristics of their classic cast aluminum models.
Nonetheless, it’s a nice machine with a double wall stainless steel lid and cast aluminum end caps. Instead of metal flavor bars over the top of the burners, MHP uses “Flavor Master” porcelain briquettes which rest on a porcelain coated grate just above the burners. In the beginning, lava rocks were employed, but the smooth uniform shape of ceramic briquettes promotes even heat and allows gunk to burn off more effectively. MHP goes a step further by using kiln fired, porcelain coated briquettes. They believe this system provides more even heat, vaporizes drippings better than most flavor bars and, of course, will not rust as do most flavor bars. The bottom aluminum casting tapers toward the back to divert grease into a small stainless steel cup. However, MHP claims not much grease escapes.
All MHP grills present a variety of options. The GJK3 may be ordered with stainless steel rod cooking grates and warming racks, or “Sear Magic” grates. Sear Magic consists of two sided, reversible aluminum cooking grates. One side is ribbed for grill marks and the other is smooth. As the name indicates, they intensify heat from standard gas burners and work in tandem with IR burners to sear while reducing moisture loss. They are similar to the popular GrillGrates, but not quite the same, and of course MHP came first. Our posted price is based on a basic GJK3 grill head mounted on a double door cart with casters. Heat Flux rating is also based on this configuration.
It has two large stainless steel “H” burners that produce a total of 54,000 BTU. Each “H” burner is effectively two burners fused together with two controls for zone cooking. So the basic GJK3 has four control knobs. Temperature range is 300°F to 550°F. Many options are available that can drive up the price significantly. You may add a side burner and/or a rotisserie kit and 16,000 BTU backburner. The “H” burners may be replaced by two Infrared burners and two cast stainless burners to create a “Hybrid” model. These Hybrid models come with Sear Magic grates. Available in natural or propane gas, it can also be retro-converted. Electronic ignition is battery powered.
GJK3 grill heads can be built into permanent installations or mounting on freestanding carts. All stainless steel carts, burners, grates and hoods are high grade 304 stainless steel. For built-in installations, MHP offers some drawers, doors and a pull out trash compartment. Tools, shish kabob skewers, a smoke box, and other accessories are available. As for parts, these guys have been around since the beginning of gas grilling and many older models are still working in the field. They got parts. They even have a “Restore a Grill” section at their website.
The warranty is exceptional: Limited Lifetime Warranty on housings, control panel, stainless steel burners, cooking racks and Sear Magic Grids. 5 Year Warranty on IR burners and porcelain briquettes. 1 Year Warranty on igniter, gas valves, knobs and briquette grates.
DCS 30-Inch Professional Outdoor Gas Grill
Unmistakable cooking performance; commercial quality construction; virtually no flare-ups; one of the best warranties on the market
Things To Love:
Performance and durability is what stands out most with DCS grills. Hands down, DCS produces the best cooking performance of any grill that I’ve cooked on.
The DCS 30-inch grill is powered by two stainless steel U-shaped burners that produce extreme heat. The grill also comes with the ceramic rod flame taming system that traps heat and radiates it across the grilling surface. This gives the DCS the most evenly heated cooking surface of any grill. Another great thing about the ceramic rods are that they control flare-ups well and deliver drippings back into your food as smoke.
The DCS 30-inch grill is available with or without a rotisserie kit and rear ceramic infrared burner. This helps drop the price if you don’t care to have a rotisserie. However, for those of you that do, the powerful rotisserie system is easily capable of turning up to 50LBS of food and the water-proof motor comes with a handy built-in grill light.
DCS grills are covered by a lifetime warranty and limited on-site warranty service, which is one of the best offered in the industry. This shows that DCS stands behind the quality of their grills.
Things To Consider:
You should consider the size of the DCS 30-inch grill and how you will be using it before buying. This is a great grill when consistently cooking for a few people, but lacks the grilling space when cooking for a crowd.
This grill does not come with a couple of great features found on the larger models. For starters, the grill lacks the double sided cast grates, and instead comes with typical stainless steel grates. Also, the grill does not include the built-in smoker box with dedicated burner. If you want smoke, you’ll have to pick up an aftermarket smoker box.
Because of the grills capability to hold in heat, the grill’s temperature doesn’t drop quickly if needed while cooking. Once the DCS is heated up, it takes a while to bring it back down to a lower temperature.
