Smoke Hollow 205 Stainless Steel TableTop Propane Gas Grill
With stainless steel as the main component of this grill, the Smoke Hollow 205 won’t rust out. Features include a double-wall lid, high temperatures of over 500°F, easy-to-clean design, and an affordable price tag.
The Smoke Hollow 205 is very portable and is easy to… tuck away in your RV’s storage. It’s perfect for quickly grilling up easy meals like hamburgers and hotdogs, but don’t expect much more.
The trickiest part of putting it together is trying to balance the handle while setting the screws from the inside of the grill hood. I found that it’s manageable if you can flip the grill upside down and hang it off of a table or counter.
Cuisinart CGG-180T Petit Gourmet Portable Tabletop Gas Grill
The Petit Gourmet is one of the most portable grills out there. Once assembled, it takes just a few seconds to set up and get going. The legs expand outward and drop down as you lift the unit. Simple enough for one person to set up with out any issues.
Lightweight materials keep the Petit Gourmet grill easy to carry with… the exception of the heavy cast-iron grill grate. But even with that extra weight, it still comes in at less than 20lbs including the stand! Storing and transporting it is a breeze. It doesn’t take up much room and will easily fit into any car.
Char-Broil Classic 280 2-Burner Liquid Propane Gas Grill
This is a basic, lightweight grill that is not built to last or to be a great grill. In all honest there isn’t much that you can say about this grill. If you don’t have a lot of money (buy this one on sale for around $100USD) and want a grill you can cook up some burgers and hot dogs on then you might want to pick this one up.
Odds are you will be dragging it out to the curb within 2 years so I wouldn’t get attached to it.
From a design standpoint this is something of a throwback to… grills of the past. The single, dual control burner has lost its popularity. The burner on this grill will probably be the first thing to go and with a replacement price of around $27USD, you will probably avoid repair and simply replace the grill in a year or two. This grill gives you a “2”-burner grill that doesn’t have a lot of versatility and won’t last more than a couple of years, but you can always turn around and buy a new one in two years. Just try and recycle this one.
Char-Broil Performance 300 2-Burner Gas Grill
This 2-burner works well in small spaces like a condo patio. When not in use, one can fold down the side shelves and roll it out of the way. If space is not an issue and you can afford the extra money, we recommend upgrading to the 3-burner which will perform better for 2-zone or indirect cooking.
This model is the smallest grill… in Char-Broil’s Performance BBQ line. Available at Tru-Value and other independent retailers it has heat indicators above each stainless steel burner just like Char-Broil’s Commercial grills. Performance and Commercial lines also have similar IR cooking grate designs, except Performance uses a single piece of stainless steel that mimics the Commercial line combo of a cast iron grate resting on a stainless steel radiant plate. They get very hot and radiate evenly across the surface.
Performance grills have battery powered ignition. Lightweight construction consists of a thin 430 stainless steel lid, control panel, single door and handles and painted steel side shelves and cart on four casters.
Weber Q2200 Liquid Propane Grill
Ready, set, grill on the go! The Weber Q 2200 portable gas BBQ grill offers 280 square inches of cooking space to create the grilled foods you love anytime, anywhere. Weber Q gas grills are perfect for tailgating, camping or small spaces like apartment balconies.
With the push of a button,… the grill ignites quickly and easily. The durable stainless steel burner produces 12,000 BTUs and the infinite control burner valve allows you to set it to the precise temperature you need with an easy-to-use knob. This Weber portable gas grill features two folding work tables so you have space to spread out, each with convenient tool hooks, and the tall cast aluminum lid is designed to expand your grilling area for larger items.
The Weber Q 2200 also features a built-in lid thermometer, a porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grate which conducts heat evenly across its surface, a cast aluminum body with drip ducts and a sturdy glass-reinforced nylon frame and handles. A removable grease catch pan is included to make clean-up easy. This Weber Q operates on a portable-sized 14. 1 or 16. 4 ounce propane cylinder (sold separately).
Char-Griller 3001 Grillin’ Pro 40,800-BTU Gas Grill
The Char-Griller company was making low-priced charcoal grills and smokers for years before it began manufacturing and selling gas grills. This offering, the Grillin’ Pro 3001, is a gas grill is built on the modified body of the smallest of their charcoal grills. Its design basically replaces the coal grate with three gas burners. In addition, this model has integrated a 12,000 BTU side burner.
Char-Griller has developed a good reputation… for making charcoal grills and smokers in the lower price range. Normally, the bodies of charcoal grills do not work well when adapted to gas grills, and vice versa, but in this case, Char-Griller managed to make a good hybrid. This gas grill can produce good heat and hold it, partly because of the porcelain-coated cast iron cooking grates and the relatively heavy steel body.
The nearly 41,000 BTUs heat output from the main burners may seem a little low for the 498 square inches of primary grilling space, but the weight of the cooking grates and the barrel shape tend to make up for this. With a smaller cooking chamber volume, it requires fewer BTUs to achieve good heat. You also get a good side burner that is powerful enough to do some pretty heavy cooking on.
Coleman Fold N Go Portable Grill
Getting packed for car camping just got a whole lot easier. Forget about the Smokey Joe, briquettes, and lighter fluid. Skip the griddle for your morning pancakes. And give that heavy old two-burner a rest. This ultraversatile, all-in-one propane stove can handle every task and recipe thanks to interchangeable cooking surfaces.
The nonstick griddle banged out a huge stack… of chocolate-chip pancakes in a few minutes. The one-burner stove is compact (about 16 x 15 x 7 inches), but the cooking surface was big enough to handle the grub for two families of four on a long weekend in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
